Top 5 of the Last 5 – Action.

By billyG

Part one of six. I’ve decided to post up the top five movies from the last five years (in my opinion). Be sure to check back every Friday for the next five weeks to see my picks for the best of the best.
__________

No Country For Old Men. (2007)

There wasn’t a single thing about this movie I didn’t like. If you didn’t like the ending, you can go fuck yourself. Period.

Quote: “Yeah, I’m going to bring you something, alright. I decided to make you a special project of mine. You ain’t going have to come looking for me at all.”
_____

The Departed. (2006)

Scorsese could have just had Mark Wahlberg talking shit to people in his Boston accent for the entire 151 minute runtime and I would have liked it just the same. Maybe even more so.

Quote: “Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe fuck yourself.”
_____

Kill Bill: Vol. 1. (2003)

Seeing it for the first time, it was unlike anything I had ever seen in a movie theater.

Quote: “You can tell she was pregnant. Man’d have to be a mad dog to shoot a goddamn good-looking gal like that in the head. Look at her. Hay-colored hair, big eyes. She’s a little blood-spattered angel.”
_____

The Bourne Ultimatum. (2005)

Though there’s a fourth installment in the works, this movie was the perfect ending to the mystery of just who the hell is Jason Bourne.

Quote: “Why didn’t you take the shot?”
_____

Batman Begins. (2005)

Completely revitalized the entire Batman franchise with a single picture. Just forget all about Batman and Robin and Batman Forever. They never existed.

Quote: “People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy and I can’t do that as Bruce Wayne. As a man I’m flesh and blood. I can be ignored. I can be destroyed. But as a symbol, as a symbol I can be incorruptible. I can be everlasting.”
_____

If you agree or disagree with one or all five of the movies I’ve chosen, feel free to leave a comment. Also, be sure to check back next week for my top 5 picks for my favorite genre, Drama.

I agree with 4/5 movies you listed. I just was really disappointed with No Country. Maybe because I had such high expectations from the Coen Bros.–I don’t know. It just didn’t do what I thought it would do for me.

However, the other four are also in my top favorite action films list. I LOVED The Departed and you actually made me want to watch it again.

I also have a countdown for The Dark Knight going on. 14 MORE DAYS! ::dances::
